Y KIDS CLUB BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
The YMCA offers quality before and after school programs in six school districts across York County. All programs are licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and are enrolled in Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars Quality Assurance Program. Each staff member who works in these programs are qualified by the Department of Public Welfare and certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Annual training requirements include fire and water safety, child abuse prevention, and an additional 10 hours curriculum based training. Lesson plans are posted weekly that include rich opportunities for exploration in interest areas. Homework help is offered and children have the opportunity to engage in free play while in the program.
Our programs, on a site by site basis, work with multiple outside organizations to provide additional enrichment for your child after school. Some of these organizations include Penn State Cooperative Extension, York County Libraries, and Family Child Resources. Please contact the appropriate branch for program times and pricing for the program. Y Kids Club times and services vary by location and school district; please contact your local branch for more details. Holiday care, days of school, and weather emergencies are also included as part of the Y Kids Club Program regularly scheduled fees.
The Y Kids Club is available to all students, regardless of income. The Y provides financial assistance for families who are unable to pay the full camp fee. Subsidies are available thanks to the generous support of the Y Strong Kids Campaign, private and public donors and through United Way of York County contributions.
