The YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program is designed to help participants with hypertension lower their blood pressure by following an evidence-based program that combines blood pressure self-monitoring, nutrition education seminars and personalized support.​  



LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12 week research based program that supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength. This health and wellness exercise program is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. This program also serves and embraces the families and caregivers that have been affected by the disease through a free family membership throughout the course of the program.

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a community-based lifestyle improvement
program for adults with prediabetes. Its purpose is to empower adults with lasting lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their chance of developing type 2 diabetes.    

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO IT ALONE!  Participants gather in a relaxed classroom setting and work together in small groups to learn how to incorporate healthier eating and moderate physical activity into their daily lives.

Enhance®Fitness, an evidence-based, low-impact aerobic group exercise program, that helps older adults at all levels of fitness become more active, energized, and empowered to sustain independent lives. This class is great for those of all ages who are just beginning their fitness journey.​  

Enhance®Fitness​ helps participants decrease risk of falls, and treat arthritis with laughter, fun and fitness!

Freedom From Smoking®

The Freedom from Smoking®​ program, developed by the 
American Lung Association, is a 7-week program designed to help people quit tobacco use and develop a smoke-free lifestyle.

​Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.  Community partners, WellSpan Health and the City of York-Bureau of Health, provide this 8 week program, free of charge.

Rock Steady Boxing

Adults with ​​​​​Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and build impressive power, strength, flexibility and speed! By exercising with coaches who know the ropes, Rock Steady Boxing participants can fight their way out of the corner and start to feel and function better.
