York YMCA Swimming has high expectations. We are committed to providing a challenging, supportive, and fun environment, to teaching good values that reach beyond the pool, and to giving our swimmers the opportunity to reach their full potentials in competitive swimming. Many of our swimmers in this program regularly compete at Junior Olympics, and some of them also compete at USA Junior and Senior Nationals, YMCA Nationals, Junior World Championships, international Grand Prix meets, and US Olympic Trials.

Tidal Waves Swim Team
The York YMCA's Tidal Waves Swim Team is open to youth of all levels & abilities. It is the perfect program for those who love to swim but have never competed on a team before, those who enjoy competitive swimming but want a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere, or high school swimmers wishing to stay in shape during the off season. Swimmers compete in local swim meets that give them friendly competition and teach them sportsmanship and teamwork. We are different from other swim teams in that we offer a fun, relaxed atmosphere, but are also very focused on teaching strokes and technique, as well as self-discipline.
Practice is held at two locations, the Graham Aquatic Center, located at 543 N. Newberry Street in York, and the York YMCA Southern Branch, located at 100 Constitution Ave in Shrewsbury.
For more information contact John Nelson, Director of Competitive Swimming at email@example.com or Erin Ferro, Southern Branch Aquatic Director, by calling 717-235-0446 x31.

Practices are designed to focus on high school events with a large emphasis on stroke improvement as well as plenty of training sets. Participants must be in high school. Program is held in the fall.
