Do you need a place for your homeschoolers to engage in physical exercise as well as develop relationships with their peers? Homeschool programs are available to both YMCA members and prospective members and are taught by certified and qualified staff. Programs are available on either Mondays or Wednesdays from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the York Branch YMCA to children ages 3-18. These specialty classes are offered soley to homeschooled children on a month by month basis.
Flippin' Mondays (3-5 yrs)
Participants will learn the fundamentals for future gymnastics growth in this instructional and recreational gymnastics environment. This class is offered on Mondays.
SPARK (6-10 yrs)
Swimming at the York branch Y (3-5 yrs)
Children enrolled will learn water acclimation and basic swimming skills: breathing, holding, kicking, back floating and basic arm patterns. This is an instructor-led class with a 6-1 ratio. This class is offered on Wednesdays.
Swimming at the York branch Y (5-18 yrs)
This class will introduce swimmers ages 5 and up, novice to expert, to the team sport of swimming. Swimming will be taught in a healthy, competitve environment with great coaching and instruction. This class is offered on Mondays.
Swimming at the Graham (5-18 yrs)
This class will introduce swimmers ages 5 and up, novice to expert, to the team sport of swimming. Swimming will be taught in a healthy, competitve environment with great coaching and instruction. This class is offered on Wednesdays.
Build strength and endurance and develop balance and
flexibility in this 1 hour Les Mills class combo! Participants will learn
proper strength training techniques while exercising to motivating popular
music during the first half of the class. Following the barbell portion
of the class, students will flow through yoga, tai chi and pilates postures
designed to increase balance, range of motion and core strength. Exercise
modifications will be demonstrated to ensure that all students have success in
this great combination program. This class is offered on Mondays.
Boot Camp (11-13 yrs)
This fun circuit style fitness class helps participants increase
strength, endurance, agility, balance and coordination. Students will use
body weight and strength tools, such as resistance tubing, medicine balls,
dumbbells, BOSU and Stability balls to challenge the body. Exercise
modifications will be demonstrated to ensure that all students find success in
this program.This class is offered on Wednesdays.
