YMCA of York County
Membership for All Income Information
Through our Membership for All program, we are able to provide financial assistance to individuals and families to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from Y programming, regardless of income. Our role as staff is to manage Membership for All, our income-based pricing system, responsibly. We require information about your household income in order to determine the Membership for All rate that is right for you. Reduced membership rates are available for households with income up to $73,999.
Verification of household income is required. Just show a copy of your most recent filed 1040 or 1040EZ.
Occasionally, we work with people who do not have a copy of their 1040 available. If that is your situation, please review the chart below to determine what you may bring in to help us understand your situation.
If this is your household situation…
You’ll need to bring…
If your household filed but don’t have a copy of your 1040(s)
A copy of your tax transcript. This can be requested from the IRS by calling 1-800-829-1040. Follow the prompts for “Personal Tax Account” and then listen for an option to request your transcript. There is no charge for a transcript to be sent to you.
If your household did not file taxes last year
For each income earner in your household, we required copies of W2s or copies of one month of current pay stubs showing the gross income. If pay stubs are not available, you can receive proof of non- filing by calling 1-800-829-1040.
If your household receive government assistance
Government assistance verification (disability statement, social security statement, case benefit history, food stamps, Medicaid, etc) or bank statement showing automatic deposit of assistance – for each adult in your household.
You must include copies for all individuals contributing to the household income. If you do not have copies of the verification required, please write a detailed letter explaining your circumstance.
We would like to help you get started with your membership as soon as possible, so please take an extra minute to be sure your information is complete before you come to the Y. When you are ready to join, membership can be automatically deducted from a checking or savings account, a credit card, or paid in full. If you are going to use your checking account, we will ask for a voided check; if you are using your savings account, we will ask for a letter from your bank with account and routing numbers; if you are going to use a credit card, we will ask for the numbers to be included on your application and we will need verify the numbers so please bring your card.
You will need to pay the prorated first month of your membership and the joining fee the day you join. If you have questions, please call one of our four branches. We look forward to working with you!
