Seventeen years ago, with only 200 runners, the very first Turkey Trot was run. In 2012, 4,100 people pounded the pavement through York City on Thanksgiving morning! A popular race, the Turkey Trot, is not just a great way to get your exercise in before the biggest meal of the year, it's also has become an event where families and friends can enjoy being together. Growing by hundreds of runners each year, it is THE race to be a part of in York County!
The Turkey Trot is a fundraiser: the dollars raised from the race go directly to support YMCA Health & Wellness programs, and to offer financial assistance to those who otherwise could not afford our programs and services.
