Youth Sports Programs

The YMCA of York County offers a variety of Youth Sports programs for kids and teens. Program descriptions, times and fees vary by location. For more information or to register, please contact the hosting branch. As with all Y programs, financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Little's Ultimate Sport Class (Ages 3-5)

Young athletes will get a chance to play sports like the big kids d! all sports including soccer, basketball, kickball and more!

Youth T-Ball (Ages 3–6)  

Participants will learn or enhance their baseball skills, including base running, fielding and hitting using a batting tee or live pitch dependent on skill development.

Designed to introduce the sport of basketball and the skills required to join a team. Appropriate basket heights for this age group will be used. 
  

NFL Flag Football (Ages 4–14) 

NFL Flag Football is a premier youth football organization. This is a non-contact league where participants learn about the game while developing teamwork and sportsmanship. All participants will receive team NFL jerseys.

Indoor and Outdoor Soccer (Ages 3-6) 

This program is designed to introduce the sport of soccer and enhance skills in a team format.

Nerf Tag (Ages 5-12)  

Nerf tag is an exciting game that atrracts all ages and abilities. Players will work together on teams for capture the flag and many other challenging formats. 

 

LEAGUES:

 

Fall Co-ed Outdoor Soccer League

Participants will work on soccer skills in an instructional setting through practices and games. This 9-week program is for youth of all skill levels between the ages of 4-11 at Dover and K-8 at York. Program runs each year from mid-September through November at the York and Dover YMCA Branches on Saturday mornings and one weekday evening each week.  

 

Winter Co-ed Indoor Soccer League

Participants work on skills in an instructional setting through practices and games. This 9-week program is for youth of all skill levels between the ages of 4-11 at Eastern and Dover, and K-8 at York. Program runs each year from early February through April at the York, Dover and Eastern Y Branches on Saturday mornings and one weekday evening.

 

Winter Co-ed Basketball League  

Participants will work on basketball skills in an instructional setting through practices and games. This 9-week program is for youth of all skill levels between the ages of 4-11 at Eastern and Dover, and K-8 at York. Program runs each year from early December through February at the York, Dover and Eastern YMCA Branches on Saturday mornings and one weekday evening each week.
 

 

Youth/Teen Co-ed Dodge Ball League

For ages 10-14. Join us for non-stop games in a fun, recreational setting. Games are played with safe and soft, rubber-coated, foam balls. Teams are formed after the first day. Program runs each year from early November through December.
 

Spring Co-ed T-ball League (Ages 4-8)

For beginners and experienced players. Participants will learn and enhance their baseball/softball skills including throwing, fielding, hitting and more through instruction, practices and games. Youth who are ready to advance past hitting off the tee, will gain "soft-pitch" from the staff and coaches.

Girls Intramural Volleyball Program

For girls grades 4-8 and ages 11-15. This fun program will enhance your volleyball skills through instruction, drills, practices and games. Programs offered beginning in mid September, mid November, and late January.

 

York YMCA Girls Volleyball Club 

For girls grades 11-18. This program is for girls who want to practice and compete at a high level.  Practices are twice a week from December through May with weekend tournaments twice a month from Janary through May at locationa throughout Pennsylvania.  For more information about the Girls Volleyball Club see below.  If you want to learn from highly qualified instructors and prepare for out intramural program, club volleyball and/or school volleyball the York YMCA offers a three day volleyball clinic.
