WELCOME TO YMCA DAY CAMP!

Childhood is a very special time and day camp experiences create memories that will last a lifetime.  It is our goal that each child has a positive experience at camp and leaves having learned many things.

All YMCA Day Camp staff are carefully recruited and trained. They all have education and experience working with children.  Training includes camp programming, age-appropriate activities, behavior management, emergency procedures, CPR, first aid, clearances and background checks.

Camp offers age-appropriate programs and children 5 to 15 years old are grouped according to ages.
5 year olds must have completed Kindergarten to attend camp.

Day Camp hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with extended hours at no additional charge, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.  Please note arrival to and from Camp Spirit will vary upon location.  Parents picking up children after 6:00pm will be charged a late fee.

Camp Spirit

YMCA Camp Spirit is located on Jerusalem School Road (off of North Sherman Street), just south of Mt. Wolf.  The camp is situated on 14 beautiful wooded acres and includes a swimming pool, basketball courts, volleyball court, athletic fields, nature trails, an amphitheater (chapel), two lodges, an arts and crafts building, archery range, barbecue pit and campfire ring.

Convenient locations!  Camps will be sponsored by three branches.  Dover, Eastern and York branches will hold camp activities at Camp Spirit.  Roundtrip transportation will be provided to Camp Spirit from each branch.

Activities include:
Sports: Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball and Tetherball
Arts & Crafts: Painting, Clay Sculpture, Tie-Dye, Drawing and Beads
Drama & Music: Talent Shows, Plays, Singing, Dance and Creative Play
Pool: Free Swim, Swim Lessons, Slip N’ Slip, Sprinklers and Water Balloons
Adventure & Nature: Hikes, Rope Swing, Forts, Mud Pit and Bamboo Forest
New Games/Group Games: Tag, Capture the Flag and Parachute
Main Lodge: Cooking Classes, Indoor Table Games and Free Choice
Devotional Period: Group Rest and Reflection

Camp Sun ’n Fun

YMCA Camp Sun ’n Fun is located at the Southern Branch YMCA, 100 Constitution Ave, Shrewsbury PA.  The facility includes a swimming pool, gym and activity areas (indoor and outdoor).

Activities
Sports: softball, football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, tetherball, four-corners
Arts & Crafts: painting, tie-dye, drawing and beading
Board Games: checkers, chess, Connect Four, etc
Drama & Music: singing, acting, dancing
Journals: reading & story time
Pool: free swim lessons, diving rings, water balls, noodles, inflatable toys, etc.
Adventure & Nature: hikes, rope swings, bamboo forest
Arcades: DDR, SportsWall, foosball, air hockey
