Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members and guests. To ensure safety and comfort for all, we ask individuals to act appropriately at all times when they are in our facility or participating in Y programs. We expect persons using the Y to behave in a mature and responsible way, and to respect the rights and dignity of others. A violation in this code of conduct may result in suspension or termination of Y membership.
The joining fee is a one-time fee when activating membership. Any membership that has lapsed for more than two months is subject to a new joining fee.
Monthly payments can be processed electronically through a credit card or checking account. Your draft continues until you provide the Y with a 30-day written notice of cancellation or changes. Phone cancellations are not accepted. This is a continuous payment system.
Membership can be automatically deducted from a checking account, a credit card, or paid in full. When signing up through a checking account, please bring a voided check; for a savings account, please bring a letter from your bank including account and routing numbers; to use a credit card, please include information on your application and bring the card when you sign up for verification.
Annual memberships and programs may be paid with cash, checks, American Express, Visa or MasterCard.
Any check returned to the Y for non-payment is charged a $35 fee.
Credits and Refunds
A complete membership refund, excluding the joining fee, is available for any reason within 30 days of joining. After 30 days, a pro-rated refund will be available only if the member is leaving the area.
Class credit or make-up times may be issued in the event of a medical emergency. Credits are at the discretion of the program director. Once you have paid for class, there is a $4 fee for class change or cancellation. Credit will be issued for classes cancelled by the Y. Classes missed due to holidays or inclement weather may not be made up or given credit. A full refund may be issued prior to the start of the program and 75% after the first day. No refunds after the second day of class.
PA Reciprocity Program
On October 1, 2015, our YMCA along with YMCAs in Pennsylvania joined a new reciprocity program – My Y is Every Y in Pennsylvania – providing you with expanded access to YMCA branches across the state. The YMCA is one movement, and members should be able to utilize Y branches as often as they can to help meet their health and wellness needs.
When you travel, you can use other Ys on a short-term basis. The AWAY program offers you access to Ys more than 50 miles away.
Facility members must scan their membership key card to gain admittance. Replacements are $5.
Financial aid is available for Y classes and programs for those who qualify. Applicants must complete and return a “financial assistance” form. For more information, please contact your local branch.
Are you eligible for a FREE membership? Call your insurance company to see if you qualify for Silver&Fit®, SilverSneakers® or other insurance reimbursements.
The Y will not be held responsible for children outside program areas or beyond indicated program times. Participation in Y programs is “at your own risk.” The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Bring your own lock and keep personal items in a secured locker at all times or leave valuables at home. Locker rentals are available for purchase at a minimal cost.
Emergency Closings and Delays
If the Y is closed or classes are delayed, an announcement is made on WGAL TV8 or wgalchannel.com.
Members are encouraged to bring friends. We are happy to arrange guest privileges so they can enjoy the benefits of membership. Guests under the age of 18 must have a supervising adult in the facility during the visit. Members under the age of 18 may not bring guests.
The Graham Aquatic Center, the YMCA facility and Camp Spirit are available for rentals. Contact the Y for details.
