Sliding Scale Program

Through our “Membership for All” program, we are able to provide financial assistance to individuals and families to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from Y programming, regardless of income. Reduced membership rates are available for households with income less than $73,999.

Verification of household income is required. Just show a copy of your most recent filed 1040 or 1040EZ.

In certain circumstances, we understand that the 1040EZ may not be available. If that is your situation, please review the chart below to help us understand your situation.

If this is your household situation… You will need to bring…
If household filed taxes but doesn’t have a copy of 1040(s) available A copy of your tax transcript. This can be requested from the IRS by calling 1-800-829-1040. Follow the prompts for “Personal Tax Account” and then listen for an option to request your transcript. There is no charge for a transcript to be sent to you.
If household did not file taxes last year For each income earner in your household, we required copies of W2s or copies of one month of current pay stubs showing the gross income. If pay stubs are not available, you can receive proof of non- filing by calling 1-800-829-1040.
If your household receives government assistance Government assistance verification (disability statement, social security statement, case benefit history, food stamps, Medicaid, etc) or bank statement showing automatic deposit of assistance – for each adult in your household.

You must include copies for all individuals contributing to the household income. If you do not have copies of the verification required, please contact the local YMCA membership director.

Please take the time to complete the application and forms and gather information before you visit the Y to enroll as a member. This allows us to get you and your family signed up as soon as possible.

Membership can be automatically deducted from a checking account, a credit card, or paid in full. When signing up through a checking account, please bring a voided check; to use a credit card, please include information on your application and bring the card when you sign up for verification.

You will need to pay the prorated first month of your membership and the joining fee the day you join. If you have questions, please call one of our four branches. We look forward to working with you!
