Camp Discovery programs are fun for children of all ages. Activities include field trips, science lessons, swimming, sports, arts & humanities and exercises that help campers learn the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Camp Discovery provides a safe, nurturing and fun camp experience for children of all ages. Our well-trained staff provide a safe environment to enhance the core values of the YMCA: faith, hope, love, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Camp Spirit

Ages 5 - 16

Camp Spirit is located on 14 acres of outdoor space. Campers participate in a wide variety of programming that includes swimming, archery, indoor gaga pit, amphitheater and an arts & crafts center. Campers enjoy the summer with sports, games, a rock climbing wall, lodges and more. Many activities are related to theme days. Each Friday, campers travel to a local park & to the Graham Aquatic Center for outdoor activities!

Registration Fee: $30/Child $50/Family

Weekly Fee: $126 (Family Memberships) $152 (Youth Membership/ Non-Members)

Camp Spirit offers transportation between the York Branch, Bob Hoffman Dover Branch, the Church of the Open Door and Camp Spirit. Please contact branch for details.

Competitive Stroke Clinics

Ages 12 - 18

Throughout the year York YMCA Swimming offers specialized clinics and mini-camps. These sessions are open to all competitive swimmers and focus on stroke development, starts, turns, and the mental aspects of improving performance.

Creative Dance

Ages 3 - 12

This is a beginner level dance class, pre-ballet or beginner ballet & creative movement. Participants are required to bring ballet shoes, leotard and tights. Classes run in ten-week sessions.

Fall Co-Ed Outdoor Soccer League

Ages 4 - 11

Participants will work on soccer skills in an instructional setting through practices and games. This 9-week program is for youth of all skill levels between the ages of 4 – 11. Program runs each year from mid-September through November at the York and Bob Hoffman Dover branches on Saturday mornings and one weekday evening each week.

Girls Intramural Volleyball Program

This fun program will enhance your volleyball skills through instruction, drills, practices and games. This program is for girls of all skill levels between grades 4-8 and ages 11-15.  Program is offered in late November, early February and early April.

Kid Fit

Ages 3 - 6

The class will teach children that fitness is fun and also ways to keep their body, mind, and spirit healthy. The children receive a daily healthy snack during their time in Kid Fit.

Kid’s Night Out

Ages 5-12

Kids Night Out is offered one Friday of each month (excluding summer months) from 6:00-9:30pm. There will be fun activities including roller skating, arts & crafts, swimming, and gym activities. Pizza will be provided the night of the event.

Nerf tag is an exciting game that attracts all ages and abilities. Players will work together on teams for capture the flag while playing with nerf guns.

NFL Flag Football

This is a non-contact league where participants learn about the game while developing teamwork and sportsmanship. The teams will practice, scrimmage, and play games twice a week. All participants will receive NFL Flag Football reversible jerseys.

Spring Co-Ed T-Ball League

For beginners and experienced players. Participants will learn and enhance their baseball/softball skills including throwing, fielding, hitting and more through instruction, practices and games. STEM Camp

31 Days of Science and Fun is a The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program is 31 days of science and fun. The goal of the program is to prevent summer learning loss while getting students excited about STEM. This program is for students entering fourth or fifth grade. Not only do students complete daily experiments, they also go on weekly education field trips that enhances the knowledge that is learned in our classrooms.

Y Kids Club

The YMCA offers quality before and after school programs in six school districts across York County. All programs are licensed by the Department of Human Services and are enrolled in Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars Quality Assurance Program. Each staff member who works in these programs are licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and certified in pediatric first aid and CPR. Annual training requirements include fire and water safety, child abuse prevention, and an additional 10 hours’ curriculum based training. Lesson plans are posted weekly that include rich opportunities for exploration in interest areas. Homework help is offered and children have the opportunity to engage in free play while in the program.

YMCA Competitive Swim Team

Competitive swimming ages 5 - 18

The York YMCA’s Competitive Swim Team is open to youth of all levels & abilities. It is the perfect program for those who love to swim but have never competed on a team It is ideally for those who enjoy competitive swimming but enjoy a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere. It is especially beneficial for high school swimmers wishing to stay in shape during the off-season. Swimmers compete in local swim meets that give them friendly competition and teach them sportsmanship and teamwork. Practice is held at two locations, the Graham Aquatic Center, located at 543 N. Newberry Street in York, and the York YMCA Southern Branch, located at 100 Constitution Ave in Shrewsbury.

York YMCA Girls Volleyball Club

Ages 11 - 18

This program is for girls who want to practice and compete at a high school level. Practices are twice a week from December through May with weekend tournaments twice a month from January through May at locations throughout Pennsylvania. If you want to learn from highly qualified instructors and prepare for our intramural program, club volleyball and/or school volleyball the York YMCA offers a three-day volleyball clinic.
