Ages 12 - 18

Throughout the year York YMCA Swimming offers specialized clinics and mini-camps. These sessions are open to all competitive swimmers and focus on stroke development, starts, turns, and the mental aspects of improving performance.

High School Prep Swimming

Instructional swim ages 13 - 17

This is an opportunity for high school swimmers to get in shape and work on improving their strokes. Practices are designed to focus on high school events with a large emphasis on stroke improvement as well as training sets.

Indoor Lap Swimming

The York YMCA’s Graham Aquatic Center is a state of the art 34,306 square foot natatorium that contains a 345,000 gallon indoor pool. The average pool temperature is kept at 79 degrees.

This swim program is geared to prepare swimmers ages 5+ to be on a competitive swim team. Swimmers will get a taste of competitive swimming in a fun and low pressure atmosphere while focusing on the four competitive strokes. Participants must get evaluated before registering.

YMCA Competitive Swim Team

Competitive swimming ages 5 - 18

The York YMCA’s Competitive Swim Team is open to youth of all levels & abilities. It is the perfect program for those who love to swim but have never competed on a team It is ideally for those who enjoy competitive swimming but enjoy a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere. It is especially beneficial for high school swimmers wishing to stay in shape during the off-season. Swimmers compete in local swim meets that give them friendly competition and teach them sportsmanship and teamwork. Practice is held at two locations, the Graham Aquatic Center, located at 543 N. Newberry Street in York, and the York YMCA Southern Branch, located at 100 Constitution Ave in Shrewsbury.
